INTRODUCTION°

In the early 1920’s, Dr. Otis G. Carroll developed & began clinically implementing a food intolerance evaluation, pioneering a strategy to reduce digestive & metabolic strain on the human frame. At it’s core, the evaluation developed by Dr. Carroll determines food(s) and combinations of food that are not inherently digestible by a particular person.

Not only did the direction from this evaluation lead to his son’s recovery from years suffering the debilitating effects of chronic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, it was instrumental in his treatments of thousands of patients at his thriving practice in Spokane, Washington from 1917 - 1962.

TECHNOLOGY°

The technology created by Dr. Carroll was based on the leading work of Professor Albert Abrams of Stanford in the early 20th century. Abrams had developed a method of evaluation based upon electric frequencies inherent to the body. His work provided insight into the state of function & dysfunction within the body’s organs. Dr. Carroll modified Abrams’ device to evaluate for the digestion and metabolization of foods and combination of foods, evaluating the strain (or lack of) they placed on the final organs of digestion and elimination.

With similarities to the bioelectronic testing of Dr. Reinhold Voll, MD (from which biofeedback was derived), this food intolerance method is best classified as a Bioenergetic electrodermal evaluation. Blood samples provided are placed in a specific electric circuit and exposed to a variety of foods. The fluctuation in current (6mV) are detected when a food disrupts this circuit thereby determining the evaluation’s results.

CLINICAL HISTORY & RESEARCH°

The Food Intolerance Evaluation has been kept close to heart within the Naturopathic Medical Profession for over a century. Millions have received this evaluation and have benefited from the application of its results.
